Privacy Policy
Privacy and anonymity are the cornerstones
of our policy. The Internet is a new and developing medium, with the
potential for violation of privacy, and the SENY Website Committee will
make every effort to protect the privacy of our visitors. Some of our
visitors may be browsing the website from their work accounts and so
may be especially anxious about their privacy. Others may be
technically knowledgeable and able to detect monitoring of their
activities. We will make every effort to accommodate all these
visitors, lessen their fears, and allow them full access to our
resources without their having to divulge personal information.
However, we must make it clear that SENY has no control of any tracking
of Internet activity that a business or other entity may impose upon
computers under its authority.
• Wherever possible, SENY members will be identified only by initials and/or service title, and
contacts to them will be provided solely by the generic addresses
provided through the SENY Website. No personal phone numbers, e-mail
addresses, or other personally identifiable contact information will be provided.
• No visitor to our Web pages will be personally identified by anyone, including our service provider (ISP), and no database will be kept by SENY with any personal information about our visitors.
• Files known as "cookies" (which many websites leave on Web Browsers in order to track user preferences and to shortcut future visits to the website) will never be placed by SENY on the Browsers of visitors to the SENY Website.
• We acknowledge that sites not directly controlled by the SENY Website Committee will not necessarily comply with our Privacy Policy.
• This privacy policy will be available for public viewing on our Web site and in other forms that we may choose to distribute. Every page on the SENY Web site will have a link to this privacy statement.
If this Privacy Policy of the SENY WebSite Committee is followed, we feel quite satisfied that we will far exceed even the most stringent privacy policies that can be legislated. After all, we must answer to an even higher power than the government.
