Historic Events for February

  • February 1908 - Bill W made his famous boomerang.
    (Pass It On pg.29-30)
  • February 11, 1937 - First New Jersey meeting was held at the home of Hank P (The Unbeliever in the 1st edition).
  • February 1938 - Rockefeller gives $5,000 to A.A.
  • February 1940 - 1st A.A. clubhouse opens at 334-1/2 West 24th Street, NYC.
  • February 8, 1940 - Rockefeller dinner.
  • February 18, 1943 - During gas rationing in WWII, AAs are granted the right to use cars for 12th step work in emergency cases.
  • February 14, 1971 - AA groups worldwide hold memorial for Bill W.

The Archives Committee:

  1. Collects and preserves historical data that is pertinent to the SENY area;
  2. Works with the historian, when asked, to mount an archives display;
  3. Displays archives at all area functions upon request.


Comité del Archivos:

  1. Ordena y mantiene los datos históricos pertenecientes al área del SENY;
  2. Coordina el Comitó de Archivos y cuando se le pide, organiza una exposición.;
