Description (from SENY handbook, latest version)

"In June 2003 the Ad Hoc Spanish translation Committee was formed to support the translation into Spanish of select written materials (including The Link/El Enlace and materials for the area website) and verbal presentations at area events (including committee and assembly meetings). The committee chair is appointed by the area chair."

What we do in practice

  1. Written translation
    1. The Link / El Enlace
      • Translate SENY officer reports (Area delegate, alternate delegate, chair, etc.) for The Link/El Enlace, on a monthly basis.
      • Layout The Link/El Enlace, with officer reports and other information.
      • Layout a Web version of The Link/El Enlace and send it to the SENY webmaster for uploading to the SENY website.
      • Provide copies of The Link/El Enlace to the Alternate Delegate for distribution at monthly Hispanic District assemblies.
    2. SENY assembly minutes
      • Coordinate with SENY Recording Secretary
      • Provide translated minutes to the Alternate Delegate for distribution at monthly Hispanic District assemblies
    3. SENY Committee meeting minutes (not yet in place/future goal)
    4. SENY service materials (e.g., translation update of SENY handbook)
    5. Requests by SENY committee chairs for translation of materials to be distributed throughout SENY (e.g., InterGroup Liaison flyers, Convention programs, etc.)
    6. Requests by SENY webmaster and/or SENY web committee chair for translation of materials posted to the SENY website
    7. Coordinate with the Agenda chair for SENY and for the Hispanic Districts to exchange information for inclusion in the respective calendars
  2. Oral Translation
    1. SENY Assemblies and Committee Meetings
    2. SENY service events
    3. County Meetings (by request)
    4. County service events (by request)
    5. SENY Conventions (by request from the Hispanic Districts)
    6. Other AA-affiliated service organizations (by request)
  3. Other services
    • Facilitate communication between English-speaking SENY and the Hispanic Districts by attending service events at the request or suggestion of the Alternate Delegate, who is the SENY liaison to the Hispanic Districts.
